From the edge of the table, he stuck his hand in gently
And said, baby, put your hand in mine
She did as she was told and said
‘Whoa, I think the stars just aligned’
‘It must be a sign’
When you get this feelin’
You know something’s right
You know things can go wrong
But at least something’s right
You wanna jump
You wanna shout
You wanna dance all night
Because you’ve got the comfort of knowing
That at least something’s right
As he leaned his head in, she let her eyes take a rest
They blocked out everybody
Just a two person party,
No other guests
Who would’ve guessed?
When you get this feelin’
You know something’s right
You know things can go wrong
But at least something’s right
You wanna jump
You wanna shout
You wanna dance all night
Because you’ve got the comfort of knowing
That at least something’s right
If she had a problem, she also had a solver
But she never seemed to care to resolve,
Because as long as she had him
Her life was never grim
She’d just escape from everybody involved
I love how you always have a message in your poems. Especially this one, it really does show how much people mean in our lives.
ReplyDeleteAnd how you can write through so many emotions...(I read your other poem after this one) it's simply amazing. Keep it up (:
